What it is

Dev Command Center is a local-first desktop app centered on the workspace: you register the Git repository, create or pick a workspace (a context with worktree/branch), work in terminal and CLI-agent Panes in the same directory and follow attention notifications when the CLI needs you. Multi-provider with BYOK; you stay in command.

Who it's for

Developers and teams who want to orchestrate agents and terminals in the right repository context — with transparency, local-first and control over what runs in each Pane.

What it solves

• Organizing work by project and by workspace (Git / worktree context)
• Running terminals and CLI agents in the same directory via Panes
• Getting attention notifications (toast, sidebar) when the CLI needs you
• Keeping a local-first, BYOK flow without depending on a centralized remote runtime

What it isn't

• It's not autopilot: the agent runs in the Pane you opened, in the workspace cwd
• It doesn't replace your editor as an "invisible mode" — it's shell + explicit Panes
